Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert: Grassy Spark & The Rudimentals
Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert on 26 March 2017 – change of performers
Bobby van Jaarsveld unfortunately had to cancel his performance at Kirstenbosch with Karlien van Jaarsveld on 26 March 2017 due to unforeseen circumstances beyond his control.
The concert at Kirstenbosch will be replaced with a performance by two bands, Grassy Spark and The Rudimentals, for an afternoon of Ska and Reggae.
Grassy Spark fuses elements of Reggae, Ska, Rock, Latin, Old-school R&B and more creating a modern and refreshing, foot-stompin’, spine-jigglin’ sound that will leave you with a smile from ear to ear. Grassy Spark seeks to inject new life into the once mighty SA Ska scene. They have just won the Vodacom In The City competition awarding them the opening slot for Milky Chance, The Cat Empire and The Kooks.
The Rudimentals are a Reggae/Dancehall/Dub and fusion outfit from Cape Town. Their frontline singers features 4 of the most highly skilled and electrifying performers in the local industry. Fronted by local Zimbabwean born hero: T-Boss Maidza, he is flanked by Zimbabwean musical legend King Labash, recent 2016 winner of Zimbabwean Best dancehall video awards, and next, from Brooklyn, NYC, is U.S.A born rapper and all round emerging media personality, is Whosane Pangaea, alongside Jamaican born star, Khaos Cottrell, who also happens to be an international Hugo Boss and Armani Male Model. The band's legendary status has been earned from over 15 years of positive contributions to the local music industry.
